The Seekrug | Menu & Opening Hours

The Seekrug at Obersee is much more than just a classic restaurant in Bielefeld. The establishment combines a historic main building, various dining areas, seasonal outdoor spaces, recreational offerings, and a clear focus on excursions, family moments, and celebrations. On the website, the Seekrug describes itself as a place where one can enjoy both a curry sausage and a freshly tapped beer, as well as host corporate events, weddings, and larger gatherings. This fits with a location that stands out due to its position by the Obersee, the combination of restaurant, beer garden, stable, and beach club, as well as a wide range of offerings. With 4.3 stars from 2,308 Google reviews, the Seekrug is also one of the prominent and heavily frequented addresses in the northern part of Bielefeld. Opening Hours, Directions, and Parking at Obersee

For many users, the first question of interest is about the opening hours and directions. The Seekrug makes this quite clear: the website mentions no day of rest, the establishment is open year-round, and the regular opening hours are currently stated as Monday to Sunday from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Additionally, the operator mentions kitchen hours that vary depending on the day of the week: Sundays to Thursdays, cooking is usually from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and Fridays and Saturdays until 8:00 PM. For registered groups, longer opening hours can be arranged, and it is also open on holidays. This appeals to both day guests and those who consciously come for dinner, celebrations, or a longer break at the Obersee. ([seekrug.com](https://seekrug.com/aktuelles/))

The location is also practically described: The Seekrug at Obersee is located at Loheide 22a, 33609 Bielefeld. For parking search, the operator explicitly recommends the search term Seekrug Parking in the navigation device. On the directions page, the Seekrug also points to the parking spaces around the Obersee, making the visit by car generally well-planned. Equally important for many visitors: The Seekrug points out that food and drinks brought from outside may not be consumed on the premises, but picnic meadows around the Obersee are available. This makes the surroundings interesting for various day plans, from spontaneous stops to walks to longer family outings. ([seekrug.com](https://seekrug.com/der-seekrug/anfahrt-parken/))

It is also practical that the Seekrug does not limit its offerings to just the restaurant. According to the operator, the mini-golf course is open all year round and is part of the location, as is the seasonal Düne 13 by Salitos, which opens regularly in good weather. So, for those wanting to combine directions and parking with an outing, there is not just a restaurant here, but a small recreational area with clear visitor logic. This is helpful for planning, as opening hours, parking search, and duration of stay fit together better. Especially in good weather, the Seekrug also points out that the establishment can be open longer if needed. ([seekrug.com](https://seekrug.com/der-seekrug/anfahrt-parken/))

Menu, Pickert, and Drinks at Seekrug

The menu is one of the strongest search topics surrounding the Seekrug, and for good reason. The operator describes the offering as a mix of tried-and-true culinary classics and modern, healthy cuisine. On the menu, Westphalian home cooking, vegetarian delicacies, and typical excursion cuisine come together. Particularly important is the Pickert, a Westphalian specialty that the Seekrug offers in various forms. The structure of the menu already shows how broad the offering is: there are sections for small hunger, shared snacks, soups, greens, filling dishes, Pickert, Pickert Picks, sweets, and special menus. This makes the Seekrug suitable for both a light lunch and a more elaborate dinner. ([seekrug.com](https://seekrug.com/speisenkarte/))

On the menu, for example, there are hearty Pickert corners with Westphalian schnibbelschinken, house-cured salmon, liver sausage, and beet syrup, as well as a Pickert appetizer platter for several people. In addition, there are dishes like Obersee platter, pea stew, red lentil soup, coconut curry soup, Caesar salad, mixed salad, medallions of young pork, salmon-trout fillet, pork schnitzel, Kikok chicken schnitzel, pasta in various forms, baked potatoes, sweet potatoes, falafel patties, stuffed peppers, and various desserts. The Seekrug clearly shows that the menu is not tailored to just one target group, but consciously addresses different eating habits. ([seekrug.com](https://seekrug.com/speisenkarte/))

In terms of drinks, the establishment also offers a wide mix. The website mentions selected wines, homemade spritz drinks, lemonades, and other beverages. Special mention is made of the house wine in red or white, which is described as an after-work offer together with a Pickert appetizer platter. For many visitors, this mix is particularly appealing: first a walk by the Obersee, then Pickert, a glass of wine or a cool drink, and afterwards coffee, cake, or dessert. This creates a complete visit experience that goes far beyond a quick meal. ([seekrug.com](https://seekrug.com/der-seekrug/restaurant-cafe-remise/))

Restaurant, Beer Garden, Stable, and Düne 13 by Salitos

The Seekrug thrives on its different areas, which allow for very different experiences depending on the weather, occasion, and mood. The restaurant is described as having a half-timbered house atmosphere with warm service and homemade dishes. In summer, the adjacent terrace with lake view adds to the experience, making the place sound even more like an outing, summer evening, and relaxed stay. This interplay of traditional house and open lake view is an important part of the Seekrug's brand impact. It also explains why the location works for family visits as well as for romantic evenings or meetings with friends. ([seekrug.com](https://seekrug.com/der-seekrug/restaurant-cafe-remise/))

A second central area is the Wolpertinger stable. It is described as cozy in winter with a Bullerjan stove and half-open in summer, making it a flexible space for different seasons. Depending on the side, the operator states capacities of up to 70 or up to 80 guests, making the stable very suitable for smaller to medium-sized celebrations. Additionally, there is the beer garden: on the outdoor area, there are two spacious beer garden areas where free seats can also be found in good weather. Ordering, buzzing, and picking up is the principle that makes the operation uncomplicated. So, for those looking for a more casual outing rather than a formal restaurant, the Seekrug also offers exactly the right form of hospitality. ([seekrug.com](https://seekrug.com/der-seekrug/restaurant-cafe-remise/))

In summer, the beach club Düne 13 by Salitos complements the overall picture. The operator describes it as a beach club in Bielefeld that opens in good weather and operates seasonally with music, cocktails, and beach vibes. This is an important search and experience factor because the Seekrug is perceived not only as a restaurant but also as a summer meeting point. Additionally, coffee, cake, waffles, and changing cake offerings keep the location attractive in the afternoon. Together, the restaurant, beer garden, stable, and Düne 13 create a versatile concept that consciously does not rely on just one time of day or occasion. ([seekrug.com](https://seekrug.com/duene-13-by-salitos/))

Event Location for Celebrations, Weddings, and Corporate Events

For many search queries, the Seekrug is primarily also an event location. The operator even refers to it as the highlight for your event in Bielefeld. Corporate events, weddings, and small family celebrations are mentioned, as well as larger formats. The homepage mentions celebrations with up to 999 people and more, clearly positioning the establishment as a large-scale event location. This number not only indicates reach but also flexibility: the Seekrug is not limited to a single setting but can be adapted to different occasions. This makes the location interesting for both private and corporate organizers. ([seekrug.com](https://seekrug.com/?utm_source=openai))

The website becomes more specific regarding the spaces. The main building offers approximately 100 seats plus 80 terrace seats. In the Wolpertinger stable, guests can celebrate with up to 80 people, while another subpage describes a usage of up to 70 people for the stable. This slight difference can be read as a hint that the capacity may vary depending on seating arrangements, occasion, and area. Additionally, the buildings can be connected with a tent upon request. The entire location can also be booked exclusively, which is important for larger corporate events, closed societies, or special private celebrations. ([seekrug.com](https://seekrug.com/eventlocation/))

Another plus point is the event support. The website names Angela Kuhlmann as the contact person for event inquiries and emphasizes her experience in planning processes, special food requests, and even artist mediation. This makes it clear that the Seekrug not only offers spaces but also organizational support. Combined with the lake view, the historic main building, outdoor areas, and seasonal beach club, a very versatile event backdrop emerges. For those searching for a location with atmosphere, cuisine, and planning service, this is a strong profile. ([seekrug.com](https://seekrug.com/eventlocation/))

Leisure & Sports at Obersee

The Seekrug is not only a restaurant but also a starting point for recreational offerings around the Obersee. The website mentions walks around the lake, mini-golf, disc golf, dino cars, beach volleyball, and in winter, curling. This mix is particularly attractive for visitors because it allows for the combination of food, movement, and stay. The Seekrug thus appeals not only to guests who come specifically for food but also to people who want to spend a complete afternoon or evening by the lake. ([seekrug.com](https://seekrug.com/?utm_source=openai))

For mini-golf, the operator states clear prices: children pay 3.50 euros, teenagers and other discounted groups 4.50 euros, and adults 5.50 euros; EC payment is possible, and reservations are not required. For disc golf, discs can be rented for 3.00 euros, and those who bring their own discs play for free. Dino cars are also available, including the Dino Racer and the Dino Family model, with staggered prices for different time slots. This makes the location particularly family-friendly and interesting for groups looking for a change from the restaurant visit. ([seekrug.com](https://seekrug.com/freizeit-sport/?utm_source=openai))

Beach volleyball is also a clear part of the offering at Seekrug. There are two beach volleyball courts that can be used free of charge during opening hours. Those who want to reserve can do so for a fee of 60 euros for two hours, according to the operator. Balls are available for rent against a deposit. At the same time, clear rules apply throughout the entire area: bringing your own food and drinks is not permitted, and grilling or open fires are also prohibited. This keeps the facility orderly without losing its open recreational character. So, for those looking for a combination of gastronomy and movement at Obersee, there is an unusually wide range here. ([seekrug.com](https://seekrug.com/freizeit-sport/?utm_source=openai))

History, Family, and Special Features at Seekrug

The Seekrug has a history that gives the place significantly more depth than many normal excursion venues. According to the operator, the main building is over 450 years old and was built at Obersee in 1994 after being stored at the Landesmuseum Detmold. In 1997, the tenant couple Rita and Christian Schulz took over the operation. In recent years, the sons Hauke and Jann have also joined, ensuring visible family continuity. This connection of historical building substance and lively family management is a defining feature that distinguishes the Seekrug from many other places. ([seekrug.com](https://seekrug.com/der-seekrug/))

The historic ambiance is not only reflected in the past but also in the way the establishment presents itself. The Seekrug sees itself as a place with lived family tradition, where hospitality, professionalism, and personal care come together. The website describes the grounds as a place for relaxation, excursions, curry sausage and beer, but also for exclusive corporate events and weddings. This breadth is an important part of the uniqueness: the Seekrug is not forced into a single role but can function simultaneously as a restaurant, café, stable, beer garden, event space, and recreational address. ([seekrug.com](https://seekrug.com/der-seekrug/))

Current events also show that something is always happening at Seekrug. The website features events such as Pickert days, readings, the gala of fire artists, open singing, asparagus buffets, summer parties, Soulburn formats, and seasonal actions around Easter and spring. This makes it clear that the Seekrug does not rely solely on passing trade but actively creates program points that attract regular guests and new visitors. Especially in connection with the Obersee, the Pickert, the recreational offerings, and the historic house, a very distinctive profile emerges. For those looking for a location that combines history, enjoyment, and programming, this is a place with real recognition value. ([seekrug.com](https://seekrug.com/aktuelles/))

Wow! I’m in shock. My 6 year old daughter was super thirsty (and I hadn’t brought my wallet) so she asked the staff at the Seekrug for a glass of tap water and she was sent away unless she would pay 2.5€. Insane. Congratulations Seekrug on the lowest you can reach as a business.

A perfect place to spend an afternoon or evening with your family, especially if you happen to have young kids. There are playing areas, a lake with ducks and a whole lot of free space for kids to have fun. And when you are done with playing, head over to the eating corner which has a restaurant, an eatery and a couple of street food stands. Not forget that the place is also a favourite among joggers and runners given its long track, which is almost 3 km long. Well, enjoy your day out!
