Hugo was a great waiter. Attentive, energetic and always smiling, he was absolutely perfect. The food however was horrific. We ordered mussels as it was the National day weekend. While the fries were on point, the mussels were of poor quality and undercooked. Both my 91 year old father in law and me were sick for three days at different degrees.

External food tent with Italian dishes, honest food at moderate prices, large choice of pizzas. Small museum on the life in barracks of Italian immigrants. Just nearby the canal (unfortunately no view on it when dining). Possibility to hire electric boats and cycles. Nice staff. Dance floor, concerts...

Very nice place and good service

-The "cantine" is located on the bank of the canal, however there is no view. The tables are located in the inner garden of the compound and designed more like cafe/bistro style rather than a restaurant. -The menu is standard Italian style but lacks variety on the seafood and meat sections. Overall beverage menu is satisfying. -The service is undermanned, but waiting times are normal depending on the complexity of your order. The prices are at the same level with other casual restaurants in the area. I must say I generally find the restaurants over priced in Belgium when compared to other parts of Europe. -It is a nice place to stop for a snack and a refreshment, other than that there is nothing special about this place.
