I've been a member here for over 30 years through my family, but like many now, I've sadly decided to leave because it no longer resonates with me, unfortunately, as it's not contemporary and authentic anymore. The church building is beautiful, the pastors are okay, but for the Sunday morning service, you have to like the old, prescribed liturgy of the Evangelical Lutheran Church... everything is very conservative, like in the 16th century. Even in the "more modern" "Connect" and "Punkt6" services, the sermons can be very boring and lengthy, read without emotions (unlike charismatic churches), and the skits feel very staged and cringy. I miss the light-hearted, humorous sermons from Pastor Prüßner... :(. The church choir with the band has also taken inspiration from the Evangelical Free Churches, but without the "burning passion" for Jesus. I now understand why the state churches are losing more and more taxpayers... it's a shame because the church has been with me for a long time, and I had hoped to stay, but it just doesn't fit anymore. Beautiful little church in Bielefeld Jöllenbeck. Good parking options. Technically up to date and the pastor is very, very nice. The wedding service was very beautiful and personal.

We really liked the church. We listened to Bach's Christmas Oratorio, wonderful.

Quite a beautiful church, part of the parish association "Versöhnungskirchengemeinde Jöllenbeck". (This includes the Resurrection Church in Theesen, which is very nicely located in greenery, and the church in Vilsendorf) but the church benches in Jöllenbeck are very uncomfortable. (It's cozier in Theesen!😊) Unfortunately, the community house in Jöllenbeck is also being demolished. Whoever decided that, .....🙈 It's good that there are dedicated people in Vilsendorf who are working to preserve the community house there and that there are also many volunteers in Theesen who take care of and maintain the community house there. By the way, the Christmas Eve service in Theesen was very beautiful and atmospheric, especially the one at 11:00 PM with the gospel choir. I also really enjoy the modern services with the band in Theesen. Unfortunately, they are too rare. Music and a modern service design are soooo important! And of course the spaces where people can meet and gather! What are we paying church taxes for, if not for that?

Beautiful church... I was disappointed by the service on Christmas Eve at 5:00 PM. I found it very flat, felt no Christmas spirit from the pastors... more like amateur theater level... the two ladies who read the scripture and the great choir saved it for me. It's incomprehensible how something like this happens when the church is soooo full. I'm not surprised that people are turning their backs on the church in droves... what a shame.
