nsaysnice | Workshops & Screen Printing Bielefeld
nsaysnice is a lovingly designed creative studio in the Bielefeld district of Dornberg/Wellensiek, where small groups can clear their minds and experiment with color, paper, and screens. The studio at Wertherstraße 310 is run by textile designer Nicole Zahn – the "n" behind nsaysnice – and offers practical workshops in screen printing, paper collage, and acrylic collage. The goal is clear: understandable guidance, high-quality materials, a friendly, relaxed atmosphere, and tangible results that you can take home. Thanks to deliberately small group sizes, you work in a relaxed manner and receive sufficient individual support. Dates, formats, and prices are transparently bookable online; groups of two to six people can request their desired dates. The location along Wertherstraße is well connected to public transport; those arriving by car can find street parking in the neighborhood. Thus, an idea on paper or a spontaneous color whim becomes a personal unique piece step by step – completely without prior knowledge, but with a lot of fun, technique, and a friendly eye for detail.
Workshops and Dates: Screen Printing, Collage, Acrylic
In the program of nsaysnice, you will find clearly structured formats that lead you into practice without hurdles. In screen printing, you can learn the papercut method – an uncomplicated entry where you cut a template with scissors and paper and can print immediately – or you create your own screen for repeatable motifs on textiles or paper. Those looking for a quick but effective exercise can choose postcard screen printing and experiment with typography, ornaments, and color. In addition to screen printing, there are two collage formats available: the paper collage, where you rearrange image material, and the acrylic collage, where you combine color, paper, and possibly your own photos. The workshops are designed so that you create a complete work within a few hours. The price range varies – depending on the format and material used – from around €49 (e.g., postcard screen printing or selected collage formats) to €59 (acrylic/collage) up to €69 and €89 (screen printing formats including screen creation). Additionally, there are seasonal specials like candle workshops that are excellent for small occasions. All offers are provided in the workshop calendar with availability; you can book directly online, ask questions via the contact form, or coordinate by phone. The course pages each contain a short description of the process, the target group (from beginners to repeat participants who want to deepen their style), information on duration and content, as well as the materials included. This way, you know in advance what to expect – and can focus entirely on your motif or color idea. The image examples from the studio also show how diverse the results can be despite the same technique: No print is the same, collages tell their own stories, and even simple color areas gain depth through overlays and textures. This is exactly what makes the formats so accessible: You learn technique as a tool and use it immediately to give your theme a personal form.
Group Booking and Capacity: 2–6 People Creative
Whether it's a circle of friends, a team, a small bachelor party, or family time: Groups experience a concentrated yet relaxed creative session at nsaysnice. The capacity is deliberately designed for small groups – two to six people – so that every voice is heard and every hand has enough space. In this size, work steps such as motif finding, cutting, mixing, printing, and drying can be well timed without causing haste. This creates space for exchange, for brief impulses from the course leadership, and for what creativity often needs: a safe framework in which experimentation is explicitly welcomed. Group bookings start at €180 and can be planned flexibly; content and focuses can be varied upon request – for example, a focus on textile printing instead of paper, a more intensive color theory phase, or a compact format with quick exercises. Practically: You can align the booking request online on the calendar or send desired dates directly via contact. In general, all materials are included in the price (unless otherwise stated), so no additional organization is required. For teams, a combination of joint motif construction (e.g., a word pair that reflects values or a project) and individual elaboration is recommended: First, you collectively establish a visual framework, then each person develops their own motif or varies the common element. The modular structure of the formats allows for both a beginner and a “deep dive” variant. From an organizational perspective, it is important to know: Regular workshops have a minimum participant number of four people. If this is not reached, the organizer informs in good time and offers a replacement date or a refund. Experience shows that the small setting allows for a very direct, appreciative exchange; the results range from clear graphic prints to playful collages with layers of color, paper, and found objects. And the best part: You take your works home with you at the end – whether textile print, postcard series, or a multi-layered collage for the wall.
Directions and Public Transport to the Studio in Bielefeld-Dornberg
Wertherstraße connects Bielefeld's city center with the northwestern districts of Dornberg and Wellensiek and leads towards Werther/Halle (Westf.). The studio is located at house number 310 and is easily accessible by public transport. From the city center, you can quickly reach the neighborhood around the campus with tram line 4 towards Universität/Wellensiek; from there, a short walk or bus ride is planned. Bus lines 21, 61, and 62 connect Dornberg/Wellensiek closely to Jahnplatz and the main train station, so you can find suitable rides on weekdays and weekends. From the main train station, buses usually take you via the central transfer at Jahnplatz towards Dornberg; depending on the time of day and connection, you need about 20 to 30 minutes to get close to Wertherstraße 310. Along Wertherstraße, there are several stops that you can choose from depending on your starting and transfer point – a short walk is always to be planned. If you are coming from Werther or Halle (Westf.), line 61 travels into the city towards Bielefeld; you get off along the corridor and walk the last meters. Tip: For evening or weekend appointments, it is worth checking the digital timetables of lines 21, 61, 62, and tram line 4 (towards Universität) to avoid waiting times. If you are coordinating several people, you can consider arrival and return directly in the group booking; this way, you have more time for the essentials on site: idea, color, motif, and the joy of creating together.
Parking at Wertherstraße 310 and Surroundings
If you are coming by car, it is best to plan a few extra minutes for parking. Along Wertherstraße and in the adjacent side streets, public parking spaces are available at the roadside. As is common in residential and mixed-use areas, time-based occupancy and regulations may vary. Always check the signage on site – especially on weekdays in the morning or at construction sites and delivery zones. For most workshop times, parking within walking distance is manageable; however, for spontaneous visits or groups, it is advisable to form carpooling or use public transport. If you are coming from the city center and want to avoid transferring at Jahnplatz, you can take tram line 4 to Universität/Wellensiek and then walk or take bus lines towards Dornberg – this saves parking search and is reliable. If you plan to bring bulky materials or pickups (for example, several printed textiles, frames, or image carriers), you can usually use the short stop zone in front of the house briefly for loading and unloading, provided the traffic situation allows it and there are no stopping bans. For those arriving by bicycle, the route runs comfortably through the neighborhoods west of the campus; secure parking options at the roadside are available. Due to its location within the existing residential and commercial structure, nsaysnice is easily accessible by car as well as by bus and train – and those who want to avoid parking searches can simply come relaxed by public transport.
Equipment, Process, and Materials
The studio is designed to bring you into a productive flow from the very first moment: clearly structured tables, space for tools, colors, papers, and fabrics, as well as a friendly light atmosphere. In the screen printing formats, you learn the entire process – from the motif idea to the stencil (papercut) or screen creation to the actual printing process on paper or textiles. You work with squeegees, color, and screens, learn how to plan prints (position, color layer, drying), and how a simple template becomes a characterful unique piece. In collage formats like paper collage and acrylic collage, it’s about composition, image rhythm, and the interplay of area, line, and texture. You combine image material, graphic elements, and color layers; in the acrylic collage, you can integrate your own photos or found objects to give the work a personal touch. The courses are structured so that you always alternate between short inputs and independent working phases. This keeps you engaged in making, but never without support: Nicole provides targeted advice on color, technique, and structure, shows tricks in handling tools, and helps to overcome blockages. Materials and tools are provided; in general, material costs are included in the course price. You do not need any prior knowledge – the formats are suitable for both beginners and deepening. Advanced participants benefit from the small setting to develop series or more complex layerings. A special advantage of screen printing: With your own screen, you can print your motif multiple times, create variants, or realize series on different carriers – from posters to bags. The studio sees itself as a safe place for experimentation: mistakes are learning moments, layers can be revised, and in the end, the visible, tangible result counts, which continues to accompany you at home.
Booking, Prices, and Cancellation
Booking is straightforward online: You select the appropriate format and a free date in the calendar, add the workshop to the cart, and complete the booking. Prices and scope of services are specified per format – from the quick postcard screen printing (often from €49) to collage workshops (e.g., €59) to more intensive screen printing sessions (€69 or €89, depending on screen creation and material use). Group offers start at €180 and can be adjusted in content. Unless otherwise stated, material costs are included in the price. For payment, online payment methods are usually available; for invoices, payment is due within the specified period. Important for planning: For workshops with fixed dates, there is no statutory right of withdrawal, as these are leisure events on a specific date. nsaysnice, however, offers transparent cancellation scales: up to 14 days before the date without fee, 13–7 days before the date 50%, 6–4 days 90%, from 3 days until the event day 100% of the course fee. If the minimum number of participants of four people is not reached, the organizer informs at least seven days in advance; already paid amounts will be refunded or rebooked to a replacement date. Organizationally, it is advisable to check availability early for groups – especially before holidays or in the spring and autumn months when creative restarts are popular. For individual questions – such as regarding the suitability of certain materials, adapting content, or special formats – you can reach the studio via contact form or by phone. This way, a smooth, reliable process is created from the first click to the finished print.

Fantastic studio! I went home after my class feeling super happy with a handmade Christmas present. Nicole gave us participants great guidance, helpful tips, and everything was perfectly prepared. There was plenty of time to do everything at our own pace – a lovely, relaxing, and creative break 😍

Where the magic happens I'm thrilled by the focused yet relaxed working atmosphere in Nicole's cool art studio. The papercut screen printing workshop covers a method that uses an unexposed mesh. This technique is rarely presented, yet it's the ideal introduction to a medium that offers both craftsmanship and creative joy. The exciting moment when you remove the screen—no two prints are alike. Nicole guides the entire printing process with attentiveness and a calm overview. Anyone who wants to experience a real flow in a group setting and take home beautiful paper creations will find exactly what they're looking for at nsaysnice's well-structured workshops. Highly recommended.

Nicole's workshops are fantastic! You can really let your creativity run wild, whether it's with screen printing, acrylic painting, or collage. I took the screen printing workshop and was able to really unleash my creativity. Nicole was always there to offer advice and provided excellent support, guiding me from creating my screen and choosing the colors to the finished artwork. I'll definitely be back! :)
