Bad Temper Joe & Band bring the Mississippi blues to Bielefeld
On Saturday, October 10, 2026, the Extra Blues Bar in Bielefeld will transform into a meeting place for handmade blues. Bad Temper Joe will perform with his full band, combining raw songwriting, distinctive slide guitar, and the immediate energy of a well-rehearsed live formation.
Rough blues with Westphalian touch
Bad Temper Joe hails from Bielefeld and is one of the prominent German blues musicians of his generation. His sound is deeply rooted in the traditions of the Mississippi Delta while remaining firmly anchored in the here and now. Weissenborn lap steel guitar, harmonica, electric guitar, and a uniquely rough voice shape his stage performance.
Between tradition and modern stage energy
The music of Bad Temper Joe brings together blues, country, and rock into a distinct soundscape. In the band setup, a dense musical network emerges from the individual instruments: slide lines glide over the rhythm, the grooves interlock, and the dynamics grow from the direct communication between the musicians.
His discography includes albums such as Sometimes a Sinner, The Maddest of Them All, Glitter & Blues, and The Acoustic Blues Guitar Revue. In 2020, Bad Temper Joe was the only European act to reach the finals of the International Blues Challenge in Memphis. In 2022, he won the German Blues Challenge and received nominations for blues awards and the German Record Critics' Award.
Live atmosphere in the Extra Blues Bar
The Extra Blues Bar stands for immediate concert proximity and a concentrated audience atmosphere. When the first guitar chord echoes through the room, earthy sound, warm club acoustics, and the tension of a real blues concert come together. The concert promises intense songs, precise synchronization, and a stage performance without distance.
Conclusion: Experience blues up close
Bad Temper Joe & Band deliver a concert in Bielefeld for all those who want to not only hear the blues but physically feel it. Between Mississippi tradition, modern interpretation, and powerful band sound, a concert experience with character is created. Anyone who wants to experience the blues in its direct, honest form should not miss this evening at the Extra Blues Bar.
