"O Wonderful Night Song": Sound Poetry Between Romanticism and Present
On Saturday, November 7, 2026, the Capella Hospitalis in Bielefeld transforms into a resonance space for delicate voices, warm cello sounds, and poetic piano colors. The concert "O Wonderful Night Song" takes the audience through sound spaces from Romanticism to the present.
Songs, Duets, and Terzettes Full of Atmosphere
At the center are songs, duets, and terzettes for mezzo-soprano, cello, and piano. Works by Fanny Mendelssohn, Jules Massenet, André Prévin, and John Cage meet original pieces and improvisations. This creates a varied program that combines classical song art with contemporary sound language.
Three Music Personalities, One Flexible Sound
Edith Murašova shapes the evening with her mezzo-soprano, Willem Schulz brings the versatile sound color of the cello, and Djamilija Keberlinskaja-Wehmeyer takes over the piano part. In this arrangement, vocal lines, chamber music synchronization, and free musical design meet.
From Romanticism to Present
The dramaturgy of the evening spans different epochs and forms of expression. Romantic song aesthetics encounter modern composition, and improvisational passages open up the musical space. An intimate live atmosphere is created, in which every tone, every pause, and every tonal nuance unfolds its effect.
