The Poetry of the Senses: An Evening of Songs Full of Sound Colors and Emotions
On October 4, 2026, the community center of the Protestant Church in Bielefeld-Brake transforms into an intimate concert venue for an extraordinary evening of songs. Soprano Dušica Bijelić, together with pianist Anahit Ter-Tatshatyan, will present a program that connects musical epochs, cultural spaces, and poetic forms of expression.
Eight Languages, Countless Moods
The songs will be presented in eight languages, opening a broad sound panorama between heartfelt song art, dramatic stage presence, and delicate musical miniature. Works by Rachmaninoff, Wagner, Bernstein, Poulenc, and Barber will lead through different aesthetic worlds: from far-reaching Romanticism to concise modern sound language.
Dušica Bijelić: Soprano with International Profile
Dušica Bijelić has extensive international stage experience. The Serbian soprano was part of the Jette Parker Young Artists Programme at the Royal Opera in London and performed there in productions such as Nabucco, Don Carlo, La Rondine, Parsifal, Die Frau ohne Schatten, and Le nozze di Figaro. Additionally, she has appeared at the Teatro Real in Madrid, at the Rossini Festival in Bad Wildbad, as well as in concerts and recitals throughout Europe, the USA, and Japan.
Her awards include first prize at the Career Bridges Competition in New York, the audience award at the Rossini Festival in Bad Wildbad, and first prize at the international Nikola-Cvejić singing competition in Serbia. The Independent honored her in 2014 as one of the eight outstanding young talents in the art world.
Piano and Voice in Direct Dialogue
Anahit Ter-Tatshatyan will accompany the evening of songs at the piano. The focus is on the close musical synchronization between voice and keyboard instrument: every nuance of text receives space, and every dynamic change shapes the atmosphere. The chamber music arrangement promises immediate closeness and a concentrated live atmosphere, where breath, articulation, and timbre become particularly intense.
A Concert for Lovers of Special Song Art
The program combines musical expertise with sensual stage performance. Romantic orchestration in piano accompaniment, differentiated phrasing, and the expressive versatility of the soprano voice make the evening a journey through poetic worlds. The mood of the audience is created not by grand show effects but by the power of directly told music.
Conclusion: An Evening for Open Ears and Great Feelings
The Poetry of the Senses promises a concentrated concert experience between international singing art, colorful song literature, and personal closeness. Those who want to experience the effect of voice and piano in direct interaction will find a special musical evening on October 4, 2026, in Bielefeld-Brake. Tickets are available at the box office.
