A musical joyride into the golden 1920s
The Cologne Salon Quartet The Schmonzetten will perform on October 10, 2026, at the Forum of the Senner Realschule in Bielefeld. The revue Best-of Schmonzetten combines three-part singing, virtuosic instrumental music, and charming anecdotes into a concert evening full of wit, elegance, and musical spirit.
Bittersweet romances and sharp-tongued cabaret songs
Selected highlights from the quartet's repertoire are at the center: bittersweet romances, frivolous hits, and sharp-tongued cabaret songs. The dramaturgy of the revue navigates different facets of the 1920s, bringing to life an era whose artistic innovation continues to resonate today.
Virtuosic arrangements with personality
The Schmonzetten rely on their own refined arrangements and a distinctive blend of singing and instrumental music. Aglaja Camphausen takes on vocals and cello, Nadine Goussi Aguigah plays violin and sings, Edith Langgartner contributes double bass and vocals, while Ulrich van der Schoor provides the musical foundation on the piano.
Between Charleston, Chanson, and Tango
Dynamic instrumental pieces and knowledgeable moderation give the concert its special flair. Charleston, chanson, foxtrot, and tango meet cabaret-style punchlines and social observations. This creates a stage experience that combines a historical atmosphere with current relevance.
An evening with a wink and depth
The staging of the revue thrives on the interplay between musical virtuosity, narrative moments, and humorous focus. Themes from the era of the Weimar Republic do not appear as a museum-like retrospective but as food for thought: Those who want to change something must sometimes swim against the tide.
In 2022, The Schmonzetten performed in the Senne and received great enthusiasm from the audience. Now, the salon quartet is returning with its best-of program. Attendees can expect a concert evening with historical color, musical precision, and a lively theatrical atmosphere.
Conclusion: Experience salon music with charm and attitude live
The Schmonzetten combine the art of moderation, musical finesse, and the lightness of a stylish revue. Those who appreciate chanson, cabaret, salon music, and the soundscape of the 1920s will experience an evening full of energy, winks, and depth at the Senner Forum.
