adversus: When photographs engage in conversation
The exhibition adversus opens an unusual perspective on photographic images at the Brackwede Town Hall Pavilion. At the vernissage on November 7, 2026, photographs encounter each other not in isolation, but in consciously composed juxtapositions. Nine photographers from the Exif.Café invite you to attentively discover the differences, tensions, and surprising relationships between the images.
Photography as a visual dialogue
At the center of the exhibition is the curatorial idea of dialogue. Opposite or formally related motifs enter into a paired relationship, creating a rich mixture of curiosity and attention. Each individual shot gains a new meaning through its counterpart: The isolated image becomes a narrative medium, whose effect only fully unfolds in comparison.
Between closeness and contrast
The exploration of the works leads through different photographic perspectives, visual languages, and aesthetic experiences. Forms, light, structures, and motifs engage in a visual exchange. Sometimes, the juxtapositions document similarities, and at other times, they sharpen the eye for contrasts. It is precisely this open readability that makes adversus a stimulating art experience for those who want to not only view photography but also interpret it.
Nine positions, one shared exhibition
Participants include Katharina Lehmann, Stefan Kull, Andreas Brettschneider, Paul Busch, Dieter Dröge, Markus Klare, Markus Fölling, Uwe Lindig, and Axel Krause. The exhibition showcases the individuality and experimental spirit of the involved photographers. In the joint presentation, a diverse photographic landscape emerges, where personal expression and shared visual effect are closely connected.
Vernissage and exhibition duration
The opening takes place on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at 11:00 AM. The district mayor Vincenzo Copertino will open the exhibition. Afterwards, adversus can be seen until November 29, 2026, on Saturdays and Sundays from 1 PM to 6 PM. Visits are also possible by appointment.
Conclusion: Learning to see photography anew
adversus promises a focused exhibition atmosphere, where seeing becomes comparative thinking. Visitors can expect an aesthetic experience between closeness, contrast, and visual surprise. Anyone who wants to experience photography as an open language and gain new perspectives on image composition and meaning should definitely visit this exhibition live at the Brackwede Town Hall Pavilion.
