Art in Conversation: Encounters with Georg Tuxhorn and Bielefeld Modernism
On Thursday, November 5, 2026, the Museum Peter August Böckstiegel invites you to a special art experience. The event combines a guided tour of the special exhibition Georg Tuxhorn and the Second Generation of Bielefeld Modernism with personal exchanges over coffee and cake.
Art Viewing at the Museum Peter August Böckstiegel
Together with Maria Ferreira-Obenhaus, participants will engage with selected works from the exhibition. The focus will be on the artistic positions of Georg Tuxhorn and his surroundings, as well as the art historical contexts of Bielefeld Modernism. The tour offers nuanced insights into the painting, imagery, and cultural context of the presented works.
Art History in Discussion
The exhibition creates space for focused art viewing and lively dialogue about art movements, perception, and regional art history. The Museum Peter August Böckstiegel provides a unique exhibition atmosphere: the modern museum building is located in close proximity to the authentically preserved artist's house, connecting collection, architecture, and memory culture.
Aesthetic Experience with Coffee and Cake
After the tour, the afternoon winds down at the Bistro & Café Vincent. With a hot beverage and a piece of cake or tart, guests deepen their impressions and engage in conversation about art. This format combines cultural education with a relaxed, social encounter.
Conclusion: Discovering Art Together
Art in Conversation is aimed at everyone who wants to not only observe exhibitions but also expand their perception through exchange.
