Migrating Colombia Film Festival: Cinema as a Place for Memory and New Perspectives
On November 7, 2026, the Migrating Colombia Film Festival brings its program to Lichtwerk Bielefeld. Under the motto “Territorios soñados” – dreamed territories – the event connects Colombian cinema with questions of migration, memory, peace, and social responsibility.
Dreamt Territories: Film, Memory, and Peace
The focus is on imagination as a force to develop new ways of restitution, remembrance, and coexistence. Ten years after the signing of the peace agreement in Colombia, the festival opens a space for dialogues between Colombia, the diaspora, and the audience in Bielefeld.
Festival Atmosphere at Lichtwerk Bielefeld
The screening will take place in Hall 1 of Lichtwerk, an established arthouse cinema in Ravensberger Park. The intimate cinema atmosphere creates the right setting for audiovisual stories that connect personal experiences with larger societal developments.
An International Film Festival with Local Encounter
The Migrating Colombia Film Festival understands cinema as a place of encounter. It focuses on perspectives from people with migration experience, Colombian diaspora, and international communities. The event is aimed at families, children, students, researchers, educators, internationals, refugees, and everyone interested in Latin American cinema and questions of identity and belonging.
An Evening for the Festival Community
From 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, the public event connects film culture, social reflection, and a sense of community. Instead of a classic film evening, a shared experience space is created where stories from Colombia spark new conversations about territory, exile, memory, and the future.
The Migrating Colombia Film Festival at Lichtwerk Bielefeld期待其观众以集中的国际电影体验和强有力的主题方向。谁经历了电影作为通往其他生活现实的窗口，应该在Ravensberger Park亲自参加这个晚上。
