During the autumn break, the namu administrative building in Bielefeld invites children and teenagers to a special family experience: In the five-day intensive course Drawing Animals with Pleasure, naturalistic drawings of animals, plants, and natural materials will be created.
Observe Butterflies, Fur, and Shells Closely
The participants will dedicate themselves to butterflies, furry animals, snails, shells, plants, and stones with pencil. It’s all about shapes, structures, and fine details. Nature provides the motifs, and the participant's own eye discovers new lines and patterns.
Age-Appropriate Learning Fun for Young Drawing Talents
The course is aimed at teenagers from 10 years old. Basic knowledge is not required: Anyone who can draw a small 'i' meets the requirements according to the event description. Patience, practice, and some fundamental rules will guide them step by step to careful nature studies.
Behind-the-Scenes Look at the Natural History Museum
A special part of the learning experience is the look into the collections of the Natural History Museum. The course thus combines creative work with natural observation. Children and teenagers strengthen their concentration, train their perception, and experience how careful observation leads to their own drawing.
Small Group and Personal Guidance
The number of participants is limited to nine people. The course is led by Dipl.-Des. Imke Brunzema. Participants may bring their own drawing materials such as pencils and paper. Adults can participate as companions if they also draw actively.
The family experience takes place over five consecutive days from October 26 to 30, 2026, each day from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. The five dates can only be booked together. The course costs 60 euros.
