Family Forest Excursion: Autumn Magic in the Teutoburg Forest

When colorful leaves rustle and the autumn forest smells of moist earth, a special family experience begins in Bielefeld: During the Family Forest Excursion, families with children or grandchildren aged six and above explore nature around the Teutoburg Forest.

With Open Eyes Through the Autumn Forest

The approximately two-and-a-half-hour excursion combines outdoor movement with exciting observations. Together, the group explores the question of which animals and plants live in the forest and why the forest is so important for people, flora, and fauna.

Interesting Facts About Animals, Plants, and Rocks

Children experience nature directly and learn age-appropriately how diverse a forest ecosystem is structured. In addition to flora and fauna, the geology of the local Teutoburg Forest is also a focus. This turns a walk into a child-friendly learning experience with plenty of space for curiosity, wonder, and personal questions.

Conservation Explained Simply

Another focus is on the interplay between human usage and nature conservation. The event clearly conveys how recreation, forestry, and the protection of valuable habitats can be interconnected. This strengthens environmental awareness, understanding of nature, and collaborative learning across generations.

Well Prepared for the Journey

For participation, the organizer recommends sturdy footwear. A pair of binoculars is welcome to allow little and large nature explorers to observe animals and landscapes more closely. The exact location of the excursion in Bielefeld will be announced upon registration.
