Discover art, ask questions, and get creative

On Family Sunday at the Museum Peter August Böckstiegel, children aged five and older, together with their parents, grandparents, aunts, or uncles, can experience a varied museum afternoon. A child-friendly short tour piques curiosity about the museum and the artists' house before the young visitors can grab paper, paint, or other materials themselves.

Playfully exploring the museum and artists' house

Curiosity, wonder, and children's laughter are all part of this family experience. The children explore the rooms playfully, discover selected artworks, and are allowed to ask their own questions. This turns the museum visit into an age-appropriate learning experience where art is not only observed but experienced together.

Turning own ideas into small artworks

After the short tour, the creative part begins. The participants create their own artwork and learn a different technique each time. This promotes imagination, concentration, and enjoyment of independent experimentation. For families, a relaxed connection of fun learning, shared time, and creative activity is created.

Family-friendly and accompanied

The offer is aimed at children aged five and older, who must be accompanied by an adult. The fixed event time of two hours creates a manageable framework for children and families. With this accompaniment, the activity remains personal, safe, and close to the needs of the young museum guests.

Conclusion: An inspiring museum day for the whole family

Family Sunday combines art education, movement through the exhibition rooms, and creative design. Families experience how curious questions lead to their own ideas and how ideas turn into personal artwork. Those who want to discover art together with children and experience special family time will find a warm, child-friendly introduction to the museum here.
