Shining Glass Stars for Young Artists from 8 Years Old

In the glass workshop at the Peter August Böckstiegel Museum, family time transforms into a creative experience: Children design their own glass stars together with an accompanying adult. The workshop combines art, craftsmanship, and winter anticipation in a child-friendly environment.

Cutting, Grinding, Soldering

Inspired by the glass works of Peter August Böckstiegel, participants will learn different steps of the process. First, the glass is cut and ground, then the individual pieces are soldered together to create traditional stars. Step by step, a personal artwork is created.

Creative Learning Experience with Accompanying Person

The technique requires concentration, care, and a bit of skill. Each child therefore works together with an adult – for example, a parent, godparent, or another trusted person. This tandem work strengthens collaboration, promotes fine motor skills, and creates valuable shared time.

Winter Art to Take Home

At the end, each tandem takes home a self-made glass star. The sparkling artworks create a festive winter atmosphere both indoors and outdoors and remind of a special family experience filled with curiosity, children's laughter, and learning fun.

Important Notes for Families

The event is aimed at children from 8 years old accompanied by an adult. The workshop takes place indoors and lasts four hours. Registration is required for participation. The date is currently fully booked; interested parties can be placed on the waiting list.

The glass workshop expects families with an age-appropriate creative activity, practical art experience, and a special take-home result. Those who want to create together, try something new, and enrich the winter atmosphere with a self-made star will experience art here very directly.
