Lantern Magic: Creative Light Moments for Kids and Adults
As autumn shortens the days, a particularly atmospheric family experience begins at the Peter August Böckstiegel Museum: During Lantern Magic, children from the age of four, together with an accompanying adult, create colorful lanterns.
Creating Together
Under the guidance of Isabell Speitelspacher, individual lanterns are made from various materials. Whether classic, playful, or personally designed – each child discovers their own ideas and turns them step by step into a small work of art.
Aged-Appropriate Fun with Light and Color
The creative offering combines imaginative design with a child-friendly learning experience. While cutting, gluing, and decorating, fine motor skills, concentration, and independent decision-making are encouraged. At the same time, children experience how something luminous and special is created from simple materials.
A Family Experience with Anticipation for the Lantern Parade
Especially nice: The finished lanterns can subsequently be used in a lantern parade. This turns the workshop into a sustainable family experience filled with children's laughter, pride, and shared time. The accompanying adult supports the child and experiences the creative process up close.
Family-Friendly in the Museum
The museum welcomes families. Strollers can be parked in the foyer, and a changing table is located in the basement. Breastfeeding and bottle-feeding are possible in a pleasant atmosphere. The event takes place indoors and is aimed at children from four years of age accompanied by an adult.
Conclusion
Lantern Magic offers families a warm, creative morning full of color, imagination, and shared discoveries. Those who want to create their own lantern with their child and playfully promote artistic skills will experience a special autumn event at the Peter August Böckstiegel Museum.
