Buddy brings sparkle to children's eyes
How does a robot dance? Can a machine show feelings? And how does modern technology help sick or autistic children? At Meet Buddy!, families discover a social robot in the Knowledge Workshop Bielefeld in a playful and understandable way.
Dance, marvel, and try together
Buddy invites children and adults to a special learning experience. Together, you will dance stop dance, observe movements, and discover how a social robot interacts with people. This ensures children's laughter, curiosity, and a lively family experience.
Robotics with heart and educational value
The focus is on the question of how robots can support people in everyday life. Children learn how Buddy helps autistic children and how sick children can participate in lessons from home using digital technology. The offer combines child-friendly knowledge transfer with important topics such as participation, health, and community.
Programming your own movements
It becomes particularly exciting when programming: with very simple software, participants develop their own movement sequences for Buddy. Thus, the little robot becomes a personal sports teacher. The activity appropriately fosters creativity, logical thinking, technical understanding, and collaborative problem-solving.
For children and families
The open offer is aimed at families as well as children aged 6 to 9 and 10 to 13 years. Children under 10 years old require the accompaniment of an adult. Curious adults are also invited to try Buddy themselves. The event takes place as part of the Family Day Robot and was developed by the University of Bielefeld and CITEC.
Conclusion: Experience technology that supports people
On this family outing, robotics becomes tangible: children dance, program, observe, and understand how technical assistance systems can help people. Those who want to combine time together with fun learning, wonder, and practical discoveries experience a special family adventure in the Knowledge Workshop Bielefeld.
