Your skateboard deck becomes a unique work of art
Colors, patterns, and plenty of personal ideas: In the creative workshop at the Museum Peter August Böckstiegel, young people design their own skateboard deck. On Wednesday, October 21, 2026, the board becomes a canvas, inviting you to discover art in a personal and fun way.
Art meets everyday life
This family and youth program is not just about classic painting. Participants transform an everyday object into a decorative piece of art and experience how a free idea turns into a visible result. Inspired by Pablo Picasso, who also artistically altered everyday objects, individual designs with colors, shapes, and personal motifs emerge.
Space for creativity and self-confidence
Brightly colored, wildly patterned, or clear and reduced: In their own skateboard design, personal expression counts. The age-appropriate program for young people aged 10 to 14 creates space for experimentation, decision-making, and trying things out. Thus, the workshop combines creative development, independence, and a practical learning experience.
Creating together in the museum
Under the guidance of Isabell Speitelspacher, the young people discover new approaches to art. The Museum Peter August Böckstiegel offers a special learning environment where art appreciation and personal creation come together. Children and young people experience that art does not have to be far away but can begin right in their everyday lives.
Safe, supported, and free
The workshop is aimed at young people aged 10 to 14 and is funded by the Kulturrucksack NRW. Participation is free. In the protected museum environment, age-appropriate work, shared experiences, and a safe creative process are the focus. Registration is done through the Kulturportal Gütersloh.
Conclusion: A skateboard deck with its own story
This family experience appeals to creative young people who enjoy colors, design, and handmade artworks. At the end, an individual skateboard deck awaits, which not only looks good but also makes their own idea visible. Mark the date now and experience an extraordinary art project live together.
