Discover the superpowers of your body in Bielefeld

Seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting, and touching: During the Tinkering Afternoon Special, the Knowledge Workshop Bielefeld transforms into an exciting research lab for children and families. At various interactive stations, young explorers experience how their senses work and how they accompany their daily lives.

Interactive stations full of wonder

During the vision test, hearing experiments, smell memory, and the touch box, curiosity is sparked immediately. Children try things out for themselves, compare their perceptions, and discover that each sense has a special role. Tasting is also part of the program, making the learning experience particularly vivid.

Child-friendly learning fun for the whole family

The open offer is suitable for families as well as for children of various age groups. Initial interactive options are already available for children from about five years old. The stations promote perception, language, independence, and scientific thinking in a playful way. Thus, quality time becomes an age-appropriate family experience filled with children’s laughter, movement, and many “aha” moments.

Come by flexibly and try it out

The Tinkering Afternoon takes place from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Families can come by without registration and decide for themselves how long they want to explore the individual stations within the time window. Children up to ten years old participate with an adult. The event is free of charge.

Science you can touch

The offer was developed by the Knowledge Workshop Bielefeld, the University of Bielefeld with teutolab-biotechnology, and the University Hospital OWL. The collaboration combines pedagogical experience with scientific expertise. This way, children experience a safe, child-friendly learning experience, where observing, asking questions, and trying things out are at the center.

Conclusion: An afternoon for families with real “aha” moments

The Tinkering Afternoon Special invites families to discover their own bodies with new eyes. Those who enjoy curious children, practical experiments, and shared learning fun will experience a diverse afternoon around the five senses at the Knowledge Workshop. Come by and find out what superpowers lie within you.
