25,000 Trees for OWL: Together for the Forest of Tomorrow
On Sunday, November 15, 2026, the Climate Week Bielefeld invites everyone to a joint tree planting action in the forest area above the Zweischlingen gastronomy. From 12:00 to 15:00, a climate-resilient mixed forest will be created there – with active support from families, friend circles, colleagues, and all people committed to nature and climate protection.
Planting the Future with Our Own Hands
The event experience begins in the heart of nature: soil underfoot, fresh forest air, and the good feeling of creating something lasting together. The planting action combines practical climate protection with a nature experience and a vibrant audience mood. Children and adults will experience firsthand how a new forest grows from collective engagement.
Weatherproof in the Forest
For participation, Climate Week Bielefeld recommends weatherproof clothing, garden gloves, and sturdy footwear, preferably rubber boots. Shovels and small hand shovels are welcome to be brought along. This makes the event planning straightforward and participation possible right on site.
Community, Engagement, and a Potluck Buffet
Whether alone, with family, or in a team: The tree planting action is aimed at all generations. Those who wish can enrich the voluntary potluck buffet with sweet or savory finger food. In addition to planting, socializing is also at the forefront – a sustainable gathering with a personal atmosphere and real local connection.
A Contribution to a Climate-Resilient Mixed Forest
Climate Week Bielefeld has been committed to climate protection in OWL for years. According to the association, more than 60,000 trees have already been planted in the local forest through the tree planting actions. The 2026 action is set to achieve the goal of 25,000 trees for OWL and is embedded in the 18th Climate Week Bielefeld.
Conclusion: Bielefeld Plants Together
The tree planting action at Zweischlingen makes climate protection tangible and creates an impactful event experience. Those who want to experience nature, move, and together with others make a statement for the forest of tomorrow will find a meaningful activity for the whole family here.
