Get creative together at the Museum Peter August Böckstiegel
What happens when children and adults experiment side by side, discover colors, and give space to chance? In the workshop What if..., families will experience a special artistic experience at the Museum Peter August Böckstiegel on October 30, 2026. Children aged six and older will create their own artworks together with an accompanying adult and take along a valuable dose of curiosity, fun in learning, and children's laughter.
Color, Print, and Surprising Image Worlds
The focus is on the printing technique. Acrylic paint is applied to a glass panel and then transferred onto paper. Through pressure, movement, and chance, individual patterns and often unexpected image worlds emerge. Each family discovers their own path from the first color streak to the finished artwork.
A Family Experience with Room for Imagination
The workshop is aimed at a tandem of child and adult accompanying person. The joint creation strengthens communication, promotes fine motor skills, and opens up an age-appropriate learning experience without performance pressure. Children will experience that art does not have to be perfect, but grows through experimenting, observing, and changing.
Art Education in a Special Museum Location
The Museum Peter August Böckstiegel combines encounters with modern art and the historic artist's house of the Westphalian Expressionist Peter August Böckstiegel. The event is held in cooperation with the VHS Ravensberg and is led by Maria Ferreira-Obenhaus. This creates a child-friendly art education that connects development, self-confidence, and joy in creative expression.
Well Prepared for the Museum
The workshop starts on Friday, October 30, 2026, at 3:00 PM and ends at 6:00 PM. Participation is possible from the age of six when accompanied by an adult. Free parking spaces are available in the immediate vicinity of the museum. Two designated disabled parking spaces are located near the entrance.

Those who want to combine creative family time with a practical learning experience will find art to participate in and a self-created memento to take home.
