Meise likes Lemon Balm: Gardening Naturally with Elke Schwarzer
How can your own garden become a lively retreat for chickadees, wild bees, butterflies, and other small garden inhabitants? In the lecture "Meise likes Lemon Balm," gardening expert and author Elke Schwarzer shows how to promote more nature and biodiversity right at your doorstep with simple means.
A Garden as a Habitat
A natural garden combines beauty with ecological benefit. The focus is on native plants, valuable food sources, and retreats for animals. Elke Schwarzer vividly conveys which design ideas can also be implemented in small spaces and how a garden can become a true paradise for birds and insects.
Practical Knowledge for Gardening Enthusiasts
The lecture is aimed at experienced hobby gardeners as well as people who are just starting with natural gardening. The event combines expert knowledge, understandable examples, and concrete suggestions for your own event planning in the green: from suitable plant selection to creating appropriate habitats.
Elke Schwarzer is a biologist, author, and enthusiastic nature gardener. In her publications, she combines botanical expertise with humorous observations from the garden. Her natural bio-garden with peat-free soil, compost, bee hotels, and bumblebee nests forms the practical background for her expertise.
Audience Mood and Event Experience
In the lecture hall of the Sennestadthaus, visitors can expect an informative, personal event atmosphere. Instead of abstract theory, tangible ideas for more biodiversity are at the forefront: plants that provide food for insects, structures that offer protection for birds, and small changes with a big impact.
Part of the Garden Certificate Series
“Meise likes Lemon Balm” is part of the “Garden Certificate” series of the Heimatgarten Sennestadt at the Sennestadt Association. The series turns natural gardening into a shared event experience and connects local gardening culture with practical environmental education.
