Gyntopia Lab: Developing Ideas for a Fairer Healthcare System Together

What does equitable reproductive healthcare look like? Gyntopia Lab invites you to the Knowledge Workshop in Bielefeld on November 12, 2026, to connect experiences, perspectives, and future ideas. The free workshop is aimed at adults, teenagers aged 14 and older, and seniors.

Safe Space for Important Questions

Puberty, contraception, pregnancy, transition, and menopause shape biographies in very different ways. At Gyntopia Lab, a protected framework is created where participants can discuss reproductive health, reflect on personal experiences, and appreciate various viewpoints.

From Story Café to Future Idea

A short impulse opens the event. Following that, a moderated story café provides space for exchange and joint reflection. The focus is on the question of how a diverse, equitable, and needs-oriented healthcare system can look like.

Getting Creative with Paper and Textiles

In the practical part, the collected thoughts take a visible form. Using paper, fabric, yarn, and other materials, participants will sew, embroider, glue, and shape. This results in small art objects that connect personal experiences and political demands. The outcomes will be brought together in a small exhibition at the end and photographed for documentation.

Science, Society, and Creative Participation

This offering has been developed by the University of Bielefeld, the Interdisciplinary Center for Gender Studies, and the Faculty of Health Sciences. As part of the SchLaDo Women's Health initiative, the workshop combines scientific perspectives with participatory event planning, creative educational work, and open dialogue.

All necessary materials will be provided. Participants are welcome to bring their own yarn, fabric scraps, or paper for collages. The event thus offers an accessible experience that connects audience mood, joint learning, and creative design.

Conclusion: Rethinking Healthcare Together

The Gyntopia Lab makes socially relevant questions tangible and invites participants to translate their own experiences into creative visions for the future. Those who wish to view reproductive health from various perspectives and make their own ideas visible will experience an inspiring evening of exchange, design, and joint reflection in the Knowledge Workshop in Bielefeld.
