Knowledge that Provides Support: The Last Aid Course in Bielefeld

On Saturday, November 7, 2026, the Outpatient Hospice Service of the AWO District Association Bielefeld invites you to a Last Aid Course. From 12:00 to 16:00, citizens will receive fundamental knowledge, orientation, and practical impulses for accompanying severely ill and dying people in the AWO Multi-Generational House.

Understanding Dying as Part of Life

The course approaches the end of life openly, respectfully, and in a relatable manner. The focus is on what relatives, friends, and people from the personal environment can do when a loved one needs support at the end of life. The event creates space for knowledge, exchange, and a human engagement with farewell and finiteness.

Four Compact Modules for More Security

The event concept includes four units of 45 minutes each. The topics range from dying as part of life to advance care planning and decision-making, alleviating potential complaints, and conscious farewells. Patient directives and power of attorney will also be briefly introduced.

Practical Orientation and Personal Encounter

The Last Aid Course combines professional information with a calm, appreciative event atmosphere. The moderation will be conducted by Resi Diener and Bernd Vinke from the AWO Hospice Service. A snack and drinks are included in the participation and support personal exchange during breaks.

An Offer for Citizens

The course is aimed at all people who want to prepare for situations at the end of life and competently accompany their loved ones. The event management of the AWO District Association focuses on understandable target group communication and a compact event planning that connects medical, social, and personal aspects.

Conclusion: The Last Aid Course provides orientation, strengthens action security, and opens a protected space for important questions. Those who want to engage with the end of life and support others in a difficult life phase will experience an informative and human-oriented event in Bielefeld.
