The welcome ceremony is aimed at all new students and creates the perfect setting to start their studies with orientation, encounters, and fresh campus energy.

In the Audimax, the largest lecture hall at the University of Bielefeld, the central welcome event will begin at 10:00 AM. Amidst the anticipation, new faces, and the special atmosphere of a first day of study, an event experience emerges that visibly marks the transition from school, training, or previous studies to university life.
Program with university, city, and student perspective
The organization connects official greetings with personal insights into life at the university. Planned are a welcome by Rector Professor Dr. Angelika Epple, an interview with the current mayor Dr. Christiana Bauer, as well as an alumni contribution from Dirk Ludewig, CEO and co-founder of nerdstar GmbH.
The student perspective will also be represented: Representatives of the General Student Committee AStA will welcome the new students. A poetry slam with Florian Wintels will set a creative accent, and the event will be moderated by Jona Steffmann and Andreas Schneidmiller from the campus radio Hertz 87.9.
