Connected Worlds: When Families Become the Stage Together
From October 26 to 29, 2026, the International Meeting Center in Bielefeld transforms into an open creative space for mothers and children aged six and up. At Connected Worlds: Theater - Dance - Music, scenes, movements, and songs will be created from themes that families bring themselves.
Theater as a Shared Meeting Space
At the center is the immediate experience: playing together, discovering one's own body as a means of expression, and developing stories from family life. The performance does not follow a predefined text but grows from improvisation, imagination, and the ideas of the participants.
Rhythm, Movement, and Acting Art
The dramatic work combines theater, dance, and music into a sensual stage experience. Body, rhythm, and play create communication even where language is not sufficient. This creates a lively theater atmosphere in which children and adults alike shape, observe, and respond to each other.
Cultural Participation for Families
The project is particularly aimed at families with refugee and migration backgrounds, but is open to all interested mothers and children. No prior knowledge is required. Curiosity, joy in playing, and willingness to embark on a shared artistic journey are crucial.
A Conclusion Full of Shared Impressions
The workshop days take place from October 26 to 28 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. On October 29, a joint conclusion will follow from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., where the created scenes, dances, and musical ideas come together.
Conclusion: A Creative Stage Experience for the Whole Family
Connected Worlds opens a space for encounter, expression, and collective creation. Those who want to experience theater not just as spectators but as participants will find an inspiring connection of acting, dance, music, and intercultural exchange here. Participation is free.
