Experience Summer Snow at Stadttheater Bielefeld: Experience Dance Yourself

Experience Summer Snow: Dance Becomes a Stage Experience

On October 18, 2026, the Theater Bielefeld invites you to a special workshop around the dance production Summer Snow at the Stadttheater. Between 11:00 and 12:30, participants will have the opportunity to engage playfully and practically with the choreographic, musical, and artistic peculiarities of the staging.

A Change of Perspective on Stage

A production is not only revealed from the audience's perspective. In this workshop, one's own steps on stage immediately delve into the dramaturgy of Summer Snow. Movement, body, and space become tools to sensibly discover the artistic language of the production. No prior knowledge is required.

Between Body, Image, and Sound

At the heart of Summer Snow is the choreographic work of Ella Rothschild. This multidimensional art project combines dance performance, surreal scenes, drawings, and digital soundscapes. The production navigates between everyday routines and catastrophe, loneliness and group dynamics, abundance and emptiness. The workshop opens a direct access to this multifaceted stage art.

Practice Instead of Mere Observation

The educational work of the theater connects professional insights with physical experience. Language, music, choreography, and the effect of the stage space are not explained abstractly but are practically explored. This creates an intense theater atmosphere in which participants experience the staging from a new perspective and sharpen their own perception.

Who Is the Workshop Suitable For?

The offer is aimed at anyone curious to explore contemporary dance, performing arts, and intermedial stage forms. For groups of 12 or more, individual dates can be arranged by arrangement. Regular participation costs 9.00 euros, reduced 4.50 euros; participation is free of charge for partner schools.

Conclusion: Understanding Theater with Your Own Body

The workshop transforms a theater visit into an active stage experience. Those who want to not only see Summer Snow but also understand it through movement, space, and rhythm will find an inspiring access to contemporary dance art at the Stadttheater Bielefeld. Secure your place in the dance hall now and experience theater up close.
