Experience university life for a week and try studying
From October 26 to 30, 2026, Bielefeld University opens its doors to students from 10th grade onwards. The Taster Week during the autumn holidays offers an authentic discovery experience in university life: Participants attend selected regular courses, explore the campus, and gain a solid orientation for their own study choices.
Lectures, seminars, and real insights into student life
The focus is on selected lectures and seminars from the regular lecture schedule. Whether humanities, social sciences, or natural sciences: Participants choose events that match their interests and experience firsthand how learning and researching works at a university.
Campus tour with students
The kickoff begins with a joint introduction. Here, students receive important information about the university and the courses. This is followed by a campus tour with students through the university grounds, highlighting key places in university life. Thus, the city tour across the campus connects orientation, personal encounters, and insights into academic culture.
Individual discovery instead of a fixed schedule
During the Taster Week, participants design their program flexibly. They decide themselves how many days they visit the university and which events interest them. This creates a personal study orientation with realistic impressions from teaching operations and direct contacts with students and teachers.
Support from the Young University Bielefeld
The team of the Young University supports participants throughout the program and answers questions about study subjects, courses, and university life. A joint closing event on Friday provides space to exchange experiences and reflect on the week together.
Conclusion: The Taster Week during the autumn holidays makes study orientation tangible and transforms initial questions into concrete impressions. Those who want to find out what a university feels like, which subjects fit, and what student life looks like will find informative and cultural enrichment in Bielefeld. Now register for the Taster Week and experience university life.
