Wilfried Schmickler in Bielefeld: When Words Cut Deeper Than Any Punchline
On November 13, 2026, Wilfried Schmickler will pull out all the stops of political cabaret at the TOR 6 Theaterhaus in Bielefeld. His new program He's Still Got It combines razor-sharp observations, poetic linguistic art, and a stage presence that puts everyday life under satirical scrutiny.
Political Cabaret with Bite and Verbal Power
Wilfried Schmickler is one of Germany's prominent political cabaret artists. After more than 45 years on stage, he returns with a program that dissects the big questions of the present while reliably landing where cabaret is strongest: between insight, outrage, and liberating laughter.
His punchlines are not coincidental. Schmickler works with polished precision, drastic verbal power, and a timing that effortlessly switches between thundering tirades and quiet irony. The result: a laughter experience with attitude, pace, and plenty of satirical pressure on the kettle.
An Evening of Anger, Wit, and Poetry
Sometimes foaming, sometimes quiet, profound, punny, and biting: Schmickler's humor has many tonal colors. His comedic atmosphere does not arise from harmless gags on an assembly line but through a direct look at political absurdities, social contradictions, and the small inconveniences of daily life.
The audience can expect stand-up elements, classic cabaret, pointed monologues, and intense interaction with the issues of our time. Each sentence feels like precise stage work: first the thought, then the tension, finally the punchline. When laughter erupts in the hall, it sounds less like distraction and more like collective relief.
Experience Award-Winning Small Arts Live
Schmickler has received several awards, including the Prix Pantheon, the German Cabaret Prize, the German Small Arts Prize, and the Salzburg Bull. Critics praise his sharp, intelligent, and highly topical form of cabaret. He belongs to that rare breed of artists who connect political analysis with comedic stage art without a safety net.
On Friday evening, the TOR 6 Theaterhaus will become a resonance chamber for wordplay, mocking songs, and cascades of text. The audience reaction is likely to range between loud laughter, approving murmurs, and the brief moment when one realizes: This punchline was not only funny, it had an uncomfortably accurate core.
Conclusion: A Must-See for Cabaret Fans
He's Still Got It promises a spectacular cabaret evening filled with political sharpness, dark humor, and linguistic precision.
