When the Accordion Resonates in the Church Space
On Friday, November 13, 2026, the LandesJugendAkkordeonOrchester NRW will perform at the Peter and Paul Church in Heepen. Under the title Accordion – The Instrument of the Year, the approximately 25-member ensemble presents a concert that combines classical orchestral literature, virtuosic stage performance, and impressive live atmosphere.
25 Young Musicians, a Powerful Orchestra Sound
The LandesJugendAkkordeonOrchester NRW brings together young people and young adults aged 18 to 27. Founded around 40 years ago, the orchestra promotes amateur musicians and music students at a high musical level. Many members have already gained experience in other orchestras or have been awarded in competitions.
From Tschaikovsky to Piazzolla
The program features a diverse repertoire with works by Peter Tschaikovsky, Franz Liszt, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Astor Piazzolla, and other composers. The characteristic sound diversity of the accordion connects orchestral depth, rhythmic precision, and colorful tones. In the acoustics of the Protestant church, a concert experience arises that combines classical dramaturgy with the immediate mood of the audience.
A Concert on the Way to the Competition
The performance in Heepen is a special stop on the orchestra's way to a competition in Osnabrück the following day. The audience experiences an ensemble in concentrated preparation with a program that combines musical demands and playing joy. Every synchronization of the voices, every dynamic increase, and every precise conducting contributes to the tension of the evening.
Free Admission at the Peter and Paul Church
The concert starts at 6:00 PM and will last until about 7:30 PM. Admission is free. Donations for the LandesJugendAkkordeonOrchester NRW and the cultural work of the Heepen-Oldentrup parish are requested.
Conclusion: Accordion Live in its Full Sound Spectrum
If you want to experience the accordion beyond familiar clichés, this evening offers a versatile concert with youthful energy, classical orchestration, and impressive stage performance. Experience the LandesJugendAkkordeonOrchester NRW live in Heepen and discover why the accordion, as the instrument of the year 2026, is much more than a solo instrument.
