TANKERKÖNIG brings Wader, Mey & Co to Bielefeld

On Saturday, November 7, 2026, TANKERKÖNIG will perform at the Gemeinschaftshaus Senne. The formation is dedicated to the songs of Hannes Wader, Reinhard Mey, and other German-speaking singer-songwriters – in harmony, emotionally, and with a great sense for the special power of clear words.

Poetic lyrics, rebellious attitude, and great melodies

The concert combines finely observed daily stories with socially critical tones, romantic moments, and sharp-witted humor. The focus is on songs that express a stance and simultaneously strike directly at the heart. The musical selection traverses a repertoire whose themes have lost none of their relevance over decades.

Harmonious sound with musical surprises

TANKERKÖNIG interprets the well-known songs not as mere copies. Harmonious singing, varied arrangements, and a thoughtfully conducted stage performance give the pieces their own sonic character. A dense live atmosphere is created between calm, almost intimate passages and powerful musical accents.

A tribute to the German singer-songwriter tradition

Hannes Wader and Reinhard Mey are among the defining voices of the German-speaking singer-songwriter scene. Wader's socially critical and often pointed lyrics meet Mey's narrative, melodic, and poetic songcraft at TANKERKÖNIG. The program thus bridges folk, chanson, pop, and political song.

The Gemeinschaftshaus Senne provides the perfect setting for an evening where lyric clarity, voices, and musical synchronization take center stage.
