When every secret unleashes a new catastrophe
On November 13, 2026, Secrets by Sébastien Blanc premieres at the Theater am Alten Markt in Bielefeld. This fast-paced and entertaining chamber play combines sharp wit, quirky turns, and an increasingly out-of-control situation into an intense theatrical experience.
A harmless TV evening tipples into chaos
Fabien wants to watch the French Open final with his brother-in-law Jérôme and his identical twin brother Éric. But before the TV evening begins, Éric asks Fabien for a private conversation. He entrusts him with a secret that could change Jérôme's life forever. Shortly thereafter, Jérôme appears with his own revelation, which threatens Éric's future.
Comedy of errors with a double bottom
In the staging by Michael Heicks, a dense web of lies, misunderstandings, and fateful arrangements unfolds. Fabien tries to stay neutral, while possible trips to the Seychelles, a burning house, and an exploding car further accelerate the plot. The dramaturgy works with precise timing, blurring the lines between truth, lies, reality, and pure madness.
Two actors, many identities
Thomas Wehling plays Fabien, while Alexander Stürmer embodies Jérôme and Éric. The focus on two actors gives this chamber play a special theatrical tension: role changes, physicality, and acting become the motor of comedy. The stage and direction are by Michael Heicks, costumes are designed by Kira Carstensen, and lighting is created by Martin Quade. Ralph Blase is responsible for the dramaturgy.
Theater atmosphere in the historical city center
The Theater am Alten Markt is located in the heart of Bielefeld and provides a concentrated stage space for the turbulent comedy. Between rapid dialogue, comedic exaggerations, and surprising revelations, a theatrical atmosphere emerges where every gesture gains significance. The audience experiences a stage event full of pace, slapstick, and dramatic pitfalls.
Conclusion: An evening full of surprises
Secrets promises a fast-paced comedy of errors for those who love intelligent wit, precise acting, and unexpected twists. Anyone who wants to see how an ordinary TV evening turns into furious stage chaos should attend this premiere live at the Theater am Alten Markt.
